Who can benefit from this treatment:

• Individuals who work long hours at a desk
• Those experiencing discomfort upon waking up
• Individuals engaged in athletic training but facing stagnation or pain
• Those noticing posture issues when seeing their reflection
• Individuals seeking to optimize health through improved posture with measurable outcomes

During the INITIAL VISIT, your therapist will utilize technology to capture and analyze your posture instantly through photos. This assessment tool helps identify postural defaults or errors such as forward head posture, scoliosis, pronated feet, and more. A detailed report will highlight any deviations, imbalances, or weaknesses in your movement patterns, guiding the development of a personalized treatment plan for measurable results.

This treatment incorporates a comprehensive approach, including orthopaedic assessment and various techniques aimed at restoring function, alleviating pain, and enhancing blood flow throughout the body. Techniques utilized may include:

• Soft Tissue Manipulation
• Cranio Sacral Techniques
• Visceral manipulation
• Positional Release
• Strain - Counterstrain
• Trigger Point Release
• Myofascial Release
• Neuromuscular Techniques
• Stretching & Strengthening exercises

WHY ADDRESS POSTURE?

1. Prevent and treat neck pain - 60% of people with neck pain have forward head posture, which is a predictive factor for the occurrence of neck pain
2. Increase airflow and breathe easy - Fixing protracted shoulder posture opens up your chest and can allow for good breathing mechanics and increased oxygen intake
3. Decrease falling risks - Forward head posture can negatively affect the body’s sense of joint position and stability increasing the risk of falling
4. Prevent and treat back pain - Prevent undue stress on your back by tracking and improving your posture to maintain a healthy spine
5. Identify youth muscle imbalance - For competitive young athletes it’s important to identify muscle imbalance and skeletal misalignment that may lead to development of painful conditions
6. Increase longevity - Tracking postural health can contribute to prevention of hunchback posture which may increase longevity

Jessi’s interest in massage therapy started early on as an adolescent when she became a client due to chronic back pain related to scoliosis. She understands firsthand the importance of creating a comfortable and safe space in which massage therapy is client-focused, trauma-informed, and consent-driven. By empowering others to see themselves as experts on their own body and encouraging them to speak up with any questions or concerns, Jessi ensures her clients are active participants in their massage treatments.

Jessi is known for having a gentle, comforting touch but is also happy to provide stronger pressure depending on client preference when indicated. Her approach tends to focus on a combination of Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, cupping, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (gua sha).

While Jessi enjoys working with a diverse range of clients, she has found her calling treating pregnant, adolescent, and mature/elderly populations.

As a mother of two, perinatal massage is particularly close to her heart and she enjoys providing massage therapy treatment to people both during pregnancy and into the postpartum phase.

She has completed courses related to pregnancy massage, pelvic health, caesarean section recovery / scar tissue massage, and is certified as a doula / labour support provider.
