Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic healthcare system rooted in ancient wisdom, aiming to harmonize the body and achieve wellness. It employs modalities like acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine, and dietary therapy to address root causes of illness and promote long-term vitality.
New clients can opt for an initial TCM consultation with or without Acupuncture, followed by subsequent sessions tailored to your needs, including optional therapies like Cupping, Moxibustion, Gua-sha therapy and Tui Na Massage.
Liya (Lee-ya) Derong Li is a skilled Registered TCM Practitioner and Acupuncturist, holding a Master's degree in Internal Medicine. With a strong medical foundation, she specializes in pain relief, treating acute and chronic conditions, addressing post-COVID symptoms, providing care for pediatrics, and enhancing women's health through traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) modalities. Additionally, Liya is undergoing training as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), allowing her to integrate her knowledge of Massage and TCM with her Tui Na Massage techniques. Explore her full bio by clicking on her picture.
TCM services are HST exempt and are covered by most extended healthcare plans. Check yours today.
Acupressure (Tui Na) Massage & Gua Sha Therapy
Tui Na Massage has similar elements to Trigger Point Therapy and is an effective treatment option for pain relief and reducing muscle tension if our RMT schedule is full. It's also a needle-free treatment substitute for experiencing the benefits of acupuncture.
Tui Na Massage is an integral component of Traditional Chinese Medicine that focuses on restoring the body's balance and promoting natural healing. Each session includes a combination of specialized techniques, including acupressure on specific points, stretching, and manipulation, as well as optional cupping and gua sha therapy, tailored to address your unique concerns.

Massage + Acupuncture
Balance your body by incorporating Acupuncture into your Massage Therapy treatment. Clinical Acupuncture takes a neuro-functional approach that targets motor points, which are synonymous with trigger points.
This approach to acupuncture acknowledges the importance of nervous system governance within the body and is used as a tool to modulate muscle tissue dysfunction, enhance muscle strength and contractile fluidity, decrease pain and increase healing.
Our Acupuncture treatments are provided by RMTs who have taking additional training and certifications in Acupuncture. Treatments are billed under the scope of RMT for insurance purposes.
Massage + Cranial Sacral
Cranial Sacral treatments are offered as part of a massage treatment with Eleanore Scott, RMT or with Ritu Kaushik, DOMP under Manual Osteopathy.
Cranial Sacral Therapy does not involve any spinal manipulations or adjustments but focuses on the use of gentle, light-touch therapy to align the structural integrity of the body. Restrictions can be detected and corrected using simple methods of touch. The Cranial-Sacral system is assessed and treated through gentle palpation of the cranium, spine and sacrum. Restrictions are released in any structures influencing the Cranial-Sacral system.
By normalizing the environment around the brain and spinal cord and enhancing the body's ability to self-correct. Cranial Sacral Therapy is able to alleviate a wide variety of dysfunctions, from chronic pain and sports injuries to stroke, concussions, vertigo, TMJ and neurological conditions.
Massage + Cupping
The Cupping approach targets both deep and superficial structures and aids in releasing fascial restrictions around muscles, tendons, and joints which helps to increase range of motion and decrease pain.
This treatment is very effective in treating:
- Shin Splints
- Compartment Syndromes
- ITB tightness
- Fascial adhesions from over use injuries, contusions, scar tissue, post-surgical scar tissue
- Tendonitis

Our focus is on meeting your therapeutic needs as you progress through the physical and emotional changes related to pregnancy. We offer various positioning and pillowing options to ensure your comfort including angled pillow support while laying supine, pillows for side-lying, and body cushion systems to allow you to lay face down in the first and second trimester without causing strain to the abdomen or low back. You can discuss these options with your therapist to choose which one is right for you.
Massage + MindBody
Massage + MindBody treatments aim to reduce the effects of stress and promote nervous system regulation which can have a positive impact on your physical health. By focusing on the mind-body connection, individuals can experience improvement in a variety of situations, including: chronic life stress, pain, anxiety and difficult emotional events
Through Breath Work, Guided Body Awareness and Visualization Techniques, you're invited to explore how your body is holding onto stress physically, and how you can relieve symptoms of pain and tension that haven't been resolved. While not a deep tissue massage, Swedish massage techniques, gentle joint mobilizations, facial work, cranial work and manual lymphatic drainage are often incorporated into the treatment. You will find that this treatment goes deeper than the tissue itself by addressing the underlying cause of the symptoms and is designed to help you establish and maintain the powerful connection between the mind and the body.
